What is The Lost & Found?

For my entire career as a writer so far, when anyone has asked me for writing advice, or to run a writing workshop, I’ve thought, “I’m not a writing professional! I don’t know how to teach people how to write. Besides, my methods and ideas aren’t some kind of gospel—why would anyone want to listen to me?”

Then one day I had the truly mind-shattering revelation that I am a professional. I think about the craft of storytelling all the time. It’s one of my favorite things to talk about. It is absolutely true that everyone builds stories in their own unique ways, but maybe I can help along someone who’s just starting out and would like a nudge in the right direction, or someone who particularly likes my books and wants to see how I do it.

Maybe we can also talk about how writing affects you as a person, about using storytelling to discover parts of yourself you didn’t even know were there. That sounds pretty interesting.

And maybe readers would like to get updates about my books and what I’m working on before anyone else! That would be fun.

So that’s what The Lost & Found is. A newsletter for writers, readers, and creatives of all types. If that sounds like something you would enjoy, please join us! Everything is completely free, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
